Monday Power Rankings: CSR

This week's installment of the weekly power rankings highlights CSR. Consistently one of the most competitive classes in the country, the top ten list was near impossible to decide on. This week is also the introduction to new contributors to the rankings. Throttled: Stock Outboard's diverse fan base put together their collective rankings, and we have rankings from budding left coast superstar Johnny Adams.

Fan Rankings

1. Dean Sutherland

2. Kyle Bahl

3. Kyle Lewis

4. Logan Sweeney

5. Tom Smith

6.(Tie) Joe Pater and Josh Pearson

8.(Tie) Carson Fabbro and Scott Reed

10.(Tie)Kyle Hannon and Mac Pfalzer

Johnny Adams:

1.J Michael Kelly: Ending the season piloting the Sutter C stock runabout, J Michael looked like a natural. Fastest stuff in the country now has one of the best drivers in the country. If this combination continues it will be hard to beat.

2. Dean Sutherland: Winning 2 of the last three national championships in CSR, It is hard to not see Dean as a contender for the upcoming year

3. Tom Smith: This family has been incredibly fast in 20ssh, CSH and CSR at national championship races. I have a feeling that this is the year for a top finish in CSR.

4. Kyle Bahl: A phenomenal driver is seeing improvements in speed at local races that will translate to the big stage in Springfield.

5. Mike Akerstrom: A close second for the national high point along with strong performances at national championships show that Mike has what it takes to crack the top 5 for this upcoming year.

6. Logan Sweeny:A talented driver coming from a fast family, along with a second place in Wakefield means that Logan is poised to make another run at the national championship this season.

7. Ryan Burdick: National High point winner for the 2019 season shows consistently fast.

8. Joe Pater: Always the pilot of the fastest stuff on the water. A good start on the inside will surely mean he runs out front this season.

Mikey Pavlick:

1. Dean Sutherland: Winning CSR nationals two out of three years is an incredible feat and it would be malpractice to put Dean anywhere lower than #1. Let's hope Finn has the 222-M rolling just as fast as 2019 during the 2020 Nationals at Springfield.

2. J Michael Kelly: Not traditionally a runabout driver, JMK has proven through his illustrious career that he can drive anything. If all indications are correct, JMK will be at the helm of the 28-R and will put the rig in the position to win all season.

3. Kyle Bahl: Probably my favorite runabout driver to watch right now, Kyle plans to take the 20-R back to it's glory. One of three drivers on my list to win CSR multiple times, Kyle has proven time and time again he can win the big ones.

4. Ryan Burdick: The 2019 High Points Champion comes in at number 4 on the 2020 CSR power rankings. Putting Illinois runabout drivers on the map, Ryan looks to bring the 1-V to the winner's circle.

5. Tom Smith: Having some of the most impressive drives of the season, like beating Ryan and Dean at Grass Lake makes Tom a can't miss top 5. Tommy and Collin are sure to be busy in the shop and at Brinkman's marine all offseason.

6. Logan Sweeney: Ohio's finest had a breakout season in CSR during the 2019 season. A second at the nationals and a full team behind him means the possibilities are endless.

7. Mike Perman: A strong contender in any class that you can race a Yamato 302, Mike Perman would probably be top 5 if I thought the odds of him attending the Nationals were higher.

8. Carson Fabbro: The 2019 Eastern Champion is the rising star of CSR. I would have envisioned a very strong finish if he was able to attend Wakefield but Springfield should bode well for the young gun.

9. Josh Pearson: Potentially the fastest rig out of the bunch, it is a strong possibility that this is the year that Josh brings home the elusive CSR summer Nationals Championship.

10. Joe Pater: A lot of people are saying that Joe is washed up. I would tend to agree. I'm expecting very little from the 53-M.

Honorable Mentions:

Scott Reed: Race availability is the only thing keeping Scott out of my top 10.

Mac Pfalzer: A very strong performance at the Lock Haven regatta shows that Mac belongs in these conversations.

Mike Akerstrom: The 25SSR High Point Champion also had a strong season in CSR. We hope to see Mike at Springfield mixing it up.
